Damlataş Cave is located at the western foot of Alanya's peninsula, adjacent to Cleopatra Beach. It was discovered in 1948 when dynamite used during the construction of Alanya harbour broke through into a sealed cavern. In 1949, it became the first cave in Turkey opened to tourism.
